Boat excursion in Altea
We will leave the port of Altea by boat to enjoy the Serra Gelada Natural Park. We will skirt the coast where we can enjoy the waters of the Mediterranean. During the activity, thanks to a guide from the Natural Park, you will take a guided tour of the area, explaining the mountains and the seabed that surrounds it.
The Serra Gelada Natural Park and its coastal surroundings are celebrating International Geodiversity Day on October 8 by showcasing their geological heritage.
Aboard a catamaran and accompanied by geologists from the University of Alicante and environmental educators from the Natural Park, we will travel along the Serra Gelada coastline to learn about the rocks, structures, and landforms that allow us to interpret its geological history.
Because geodiversity is present in our landscape, in the cliffs we see rising above the sea, and also beneath its waters.
This is an opportunity to discover the 150 million years of Serra Gelada’s geological history, learning how processes that have taken place over millions of years have shaped the landscape we know today, and exploring some of its most distinctive features, such as the fossil dunes preserved in this area.

Sail by boat through the Serra Gelada
We will leave the port of Altea by boat to enjoy the Serra Gelada Natural Park. We will skirt the coast where we can enjoy the waters of the Mediterranean. During the activity, thanks to a guide from the Natural Park, you will take a guided tour of the area, explaining the mountain range and the seabed that surrounds it, which make up a set of ecosystems of incalculable ecological and environmental value, which together with the cultural and historical wealth of its surroundings, led to its declaration in March 2005 as a maritime-terrestrial Natural Park.
